Halloween to Bowl

This Halloween was absolutely splendid! I hope everyone got a little extra gunpowder in their roman candles this year. I think the Halloween Show was the most fun we've had on the radio yet.

Sorry for the choppiness in the last few minutes of the downloadable version. Sigh. Burned again by the crappy cd burners at the station. I'll upload a cleaner copy next week.

Here lies the haunted playlist:

  1. King Horror // Loch Ness Monster
  2. The Bomboras // Night of the Bomboras
  3. The Shaggs // It's Halloween
  4. Kido Natsuki // Disco Space, Baby
  5. The Haunted Mansion Suite
  6. Loscil // Kursk
  7. The Sonics // The Witch (For Patrick's Dad)
  8. L'Orkestre des Pas Perdus // Bricolage
  9. Old Time Relijin // Vampire Victim
  10. The Bus // If Santa Claus Was A Vampire
  11. The Mongols // Sleepwalk
  12. The Ghastly Ones // Ghastly Stomp
  13. The Great Pumpkin // Vince Guaraldi Trio

We also played the following movie trailers: Carnival of Blood, Curse of the Headless Horseman, and Frankenstein's Castle of Freaks.

Crustless

No theme this week on How to Bowl--unless you count some songs with saxophones. But next week is Halloween, so we're saving our strength.

I finally got the recording of the show figured out. Well, almost. It's maybe a bit loud this week and I forgot to turn it on until after the first song. Anyway, check the sidebar on the right for the link.

Here's what we played:

  1. The Tijuana Bibles // Jetpack
  2. Johnny and the Hurricanes // Red River Rock
  3. William Bell // Any Other Way
  4. Robin and the Mercurys // Robin is Coming
  5. Baron Samedi ESQ. // Not an Afro in Sight
  6. Devendra Banhardt // Little Yellow Spider (For Eve)
  7. Les Angles Morts // La Ronde
  8. Jandek // Live in Glasgow
  9. The Famous Crew // Call Me Darling
  10. The Spiders // Anata to Irutoki Sonnatoki
  11. The Sonics/Japanther // He's Waiting/Super Loser (For Danny)
  12. Only a Mother // Fingers of a Pumpkin

The Icing

I'd like to say a big thank you to all my friends that I got to spend my birthday with--in one way or another.

Whether it was singing happy birthday in German, dancing your ass off, drinking your ass off, laughing louder than everyone else in the movie theatre, eating vegan treats, or indulging in Denny's or even just having the same birthday...

You folks never cease to amaze and you made my day!

Here's the setlist from the How to Bowl birthday show:

  1. Solex // Take That Gum Out!
  2. Mates of State // These Days
  3. Pulnoc // All Tomorrow's Parties
  4. Lincoln Park Zoo // Love Theme From Haight St.
  5. Zumpano // I Dig You
  6. The Robosexuals // Women and Men
  7. Black Rice // Dressing Up For the Showdown
  8. The Clean // Tally Ho!
  9. Mrs. Miller // September in the Rain
  10. Roy Fleck // Shuffle Off to Buffalo
  11. The Moools // Unknown
  12. A Fever // Bakelite
  13. The Ugly Ducklings // She Ain't No Use to Me
